Rental Equipment


If you’re renting skis, everyone is individually responsible for reserving your equipment ahead of time (aka DO IT NOW!) to receive a 20% discount.  We suggest using Switchback Sports, as they have a rental shop in The Silverado Lodge.

    The Switchback Sports Shop is on the main floor next to the front desk. They are going to remain open for us until 6 or 7pm on the evening of January 10th. Please try to get your skis picked up ASAP upon arrival and have a non-renter do the check-in. Make sure that you print out a copy of your rental form from your reservation and bring it along with one of your boots with you to the shop.

      You will be able to store your skis with the valet at the main entrance but we recommend keeping your boots with you to keep them warm.

      Many of us will not ski 6 consecutive days.  Switchback Sports does not allow any non-use days without returning equipment and then picking it back up. There are 2 options open for you:

      • When you turn in your skis on the last day of your reservation to Switchback Sports in The Silverado Lodge, if you did not ski one day, simply tell them and they will charge a “Holding Fee” of $20 for that day rather than the daily reservation amount. It will be processed as a refund of the difference between the reservation rate and the $20. They will only do this for one day and please be an honest Snow Skiing Villager.
      • If you know now that you’ll ski a certain number of days, take a day off and then ski another number of days. You can make separate reservations and avoid the “Holding Fee”.  You should do this now, well ahead of time to make sure you get 20% off each reservation.
